Y-C'EL Songwriter: I’d have to say Stevie Wonder, because he’s the Epitome of R&B to me

RnB-Blues: What do you do for inspiration when you sit down to write a song and it seems that nothing wants to come out?

Y-C'EL Songwriter: I'll usually just play around on the keys, till I get that melody or chord that stands out then I build around it, singing a harmony out, then I’ll follow with the lyrics.

RnB-Blues: Do you also want to write songs for other artists?

Y-C'EL Songwriter: Yes and I also do some Ghost writing as well.

Born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson was the seventh child of the family of nine. They were six brothers and three sisters - Sigmund, Toriano, Jermaine, Marlon, Michael, Steven, Rebbie, Janet and La-Toya. He started his career by becoming the lead singer of the band Jackson 5, at the age of five. Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon were the other band members.

They played at local parties and clubs and also entered competitions which allowed them to grow as a band. They got their big first big break in 1968 when Bobby Taylor and The Vancouvers heard about the Jackson 5 and got them auditioned for Berry Gordy of Motown Records. They were signed immediately and they moved to California. "I want you back", "The love you save" and "I'll be there" were among their first few singles which became huge hits of America. They made fourteen albums with Motown till 1976 and Michael Jackson recorded four other albums. They later signed up with Epic and their group name was changed to The Jacksons, as Jackson 5 was the copyright of Motown. They made a total of six albums with Epic many of them being great hits until 1984.

Michael met Quincy Jones on the sets of "The Wiz", which was also his film debut. He played the role of crow along with Diana Ross who played Dorothy. He made "Off The Wall" with Quincy, who was the producer. It was the first album whose all four songs were US #1 singles and was a hit all over the world. "Thriller" was the largest selling album of all time, which was released in 1982. Over fifty million copies of the album were sold worldwide and the album had seven hits.

Michael Jackson laid great emphasis on the videos. He called them as short films of his albums and chose the best producers and directors to work with. He even used special effects and the latest technologies, his hit song Billie Jean was a good example of this. Excellent choreography was combined with detailed make-up to make this fourteen minute long video. This short film boosted the sales of the album, Thriller and it became the world's largest selling home video.

The trademark moonwalk was performed by Michael Jackson for the first time in the year 1984. He won eight Grammies in one night for the album "Thriller" and the narrative work on ET Storybook, breaking all records. He announced, on December 9, 1984 that he is splitting with The Jacksons on his last concert of The Jackson's Victory tour. After that he released his next album in 1987 named "Bad". Michael also wrote his autobiography in 1987 which talked in detailed about his personal life and singing career. He was given the title of the Artist of the Decade for his albums "Thriller" and "Bad". He released his fourth album "Dangerous" in collaboration with Sony Music in 1991. After his first solo world tour in 1987 he took off for another world tour in 1992. His song "Heal the World" was written on the pages of history and won the hearts of many. In the same year he started Heal the World Foundation for the homeless and orphan children of the world.

His marriage with Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the legendry Elvis Presley lasted for only one and a half year and they were divorced in 1996. During that period he released his fifth album "History" in 1995. To promote that album this time he took a world tour for two years. Debbie Rowe was his second wife and also his nurse when he was getting treatment for skin disorder. They had a child named Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. who was born on February 13, 1997. The next year they were gifted with a daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson who was born on April 3, 1998.

"Blood on the Dance Floor" was his sixth solo album, which was released in 1997. He also made a thirty eight minute short film named Ghost to promote his album, in which he played five different characters. He reunited with his the Jacksons on his concert in New York to celebrate his thirteenth anniversary as a solo artist. Many other superstars shared the stage with him like Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, Shaggy and others. He released" Invisible" and "You Rock My World in 2001".

Jackson had his own share of controversies in recent years when he was accused of child abuse charges. After going through years of trauma he was finally found not guilty. Jackson now lives in a Middle Eastern country called Bahrain with his brother Jermaine far away from the shadow of the public and God only knows when he will return to the music again.

RnB-Blues: First off, your newest album, “God Is in the City” is very highly anticipated. Can you tell our audience what can be expected from this album?

Nicholas Howard: The album is out now and people can expect the same thing they get whenever they check out my music; One guys interpretation of the life and world around him.. I try to be as honest as possible and touch on subjects that some artists ignore, and some are too scared to talk about. The government, the planets well being, and our own mental health are just as, or more important than listening to a song that asks you to shake your ass in a club, or telling you about how cool I think I am... I hope to show that artistry is not dead, and that Music is for healing and redemption, and rejoicing in our human-ness, all while respecting the intelligence of the listener...

RnB-Blues: Who would you say this album is dedicated to?

Nicholas Howard: Simply put, this album is dedicated to New York City and all the people in the world that are dreamers and doers.

RnB-Blues: Can you tell us about your first single “God Is in the City?” and the overall vibe of the track?

Nicholas Howard: The song “God is in the City” is my way of explaining how I believe this city, NYC, is a blessed place. It’s blessed in that it is a Mecca for the creative, the driven, the passionate, and the hungry, and they all come here to realize their dreams. With all that positive energy, how could this place not be blessed? It must be, especially since people still come here everyday, even though this is one of the fastest and toughest cities to live in... The vibe is kind of dark and ominous and then switches to inspired...

RnB-Blues: Can you tell us some production credits on your album?

Nicholas Howard: The album was written by Miss Music and I, and produced by Miss Music, Rocky Grisez and myself. Rocky and I did all the grunt work and Miss Music played overseer and fed us our inspirations... ;-) Jamie Kime played an amazing guitar (currently on tour with Zappa), Chris Roy played a mean bass. Rocky wrote some insane string parts and Erich Bulling wrote some incredible horn parts. I am so glad that I got to work with all those wonderful people and that Miss Music continues to have her lovely conversations with me.

RnB-Blues: How is God Is in the City different from other Urban Soul releases?

Nicholas Howard: I think it stands apart because you can actually hear the wide variety of influences molding together and more importantly, the creativity was allowed to flow unbridled in any direction it chose.

RnB-Blues: Can you give us a sneak peak of what’s coming up? Can you tell us a little about it?

Nicholas Howard: I am in the process of booking as many shows as possible in the mid-atlantic region to help this record on its journey and also working on my third album due out April, 2010. R&B Singer JayBezz Exclusively Talk to RnB.Blues About New Album, "Evolove"

How did you get started with your music?

- I remember being real young and my mom would write songs for the church choir and I said.. hmm I can do that. Since then I just kept writing and saving up till I could finally get my own project out there. I am really excited about bringing my spin to the music scene.

What are you currently working on?

- I am currently booking internationally. I will leave in early winter over to Tokyo to promote the album. It's amazing because I'm working with famed choreographer Allan Frias and this will be my first time performing in Japan.

What kind of music do you listen to and how does it influence your music?

- I'm definitely into the old school Motown and anyone who's last name is Jackson. I've been told many times that my music sounds very much like something Janet would herself sing. I think that is one of my major influences.

Who do you admire?

- I really admire Diana Ross. She has always found a way to be relevant and keep her own voice. She is an icon on so many levels, and has an extremely long, diverse volume of work.

Why would people want to listen to your music over someone else’s?

- I would hardly see it as a competition, however, I do write from a genuinely unique perspective. I write from my heart.. and in my heart have been many men that i've loved, been loved, and grown from. I hope gay music can redeem itself from it's general standard of "sub par".

What suggestions do you have for other artists in the music industry?

- Suggestions for them..? I don't know make sure to keep your ears and hearts open. Mostly I hope to hear from THEM!!

Where do you see yourself in a year from now?

- A year from now I hope to still be on tour promoting this amazing album and have some money and time to travel with my amazing friends and family.

Any additional information you would like us to know?

- EVOLOVE is about the evolution of love in many terms.. through time and emotion. I appreciate the chance to share it with you guys and hopefully you keep asking for more!

"Sexy Ladies" is a mid-tempo song where Ray J teams up with Truth & Shorty Mack. The song is included in "For the Love of Ray J" soundtrack album, due for U.S. release on March 24 under Knockout Entertainment in conjunction with E1 Music.

Beside filming the reality show about his journey "to find true love," Ray J has also been busy working on a follow-up to his fourth studio album "All I Feel". Jay-Z: A Prelude To Blueprint 3

Jay-Z recently announced that he’s decided to take his time with his next album, Blueprint 3. Originally expected late last year and then rumored to have a release date of February 09, Jay recently told MTV, “I’m gonna take my time with it. I don’t have any quotas, and that’s a good thing. It may be too freeing. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. You know, I think I need some restrictions. ‘Cause if I had restrictions, I would have done it in three weeks. I would have made what I believe to be a great piece of art.”

With that being said and us being huge Jay stans on the site, we simply cannot wait for the album. So to hold us over, we’ve compiled a mix of tracks that have either been recorded or leaked since the release of American Gangster. Fact of the matter is, Jay stays busy. Whether it’s recording tracks for the new album, hopping on someone else’s album, or helping make a remix that much fresher, there’s enough material here to hold us over.

Chris Brown Threatened To Kill Rihanna

As more time goes by since the Chris Brown-Rihanna smack down, the news is startling to trickle out about what really happened that night. Contrary to several media outlets, it is said that Rihanna IS cooperating with law enforcement and apparently has unveiled some very chilling evidence.

A source said that Rihanna has alleged to police that Brown choked her while threatening to kill her and, subsequently, she lost consciousness. They began squabbling after leaving Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party late Saturday. Shortly after midnight, things blew up. Brown pulled his silver Lamborghini to the side of a street in L.A.’s Hancock Park neighborhood. That’s when, per the source, Rihanna grabbed the car keys and tossed them out the window, sending Brown into a rage. He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, “I’m going to kill you!”

According to the source, Rihanna told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled.

According to the source, her right eye was blackened and badly swollen and she had hand prints on her arms. The responding officers were so concerned about her, they drove Rihanna to the hospital in their squad car instead of waiting for an ambulance.

Officers took two sets of photographs of the banged-up singer, one at the scene and the second after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. Those photos were presumably among the evidence presented to the district attorney.

After being treated for her injuries, police escorted her down a rear elevator and into a waiting Mercedes, the source says.

Many are wanting to know what started the argument between Chris and RiRi? As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t matter…Chris smacked RiRi up AND threatened to kill her. That is beyond wrong.
